Assistant Maintenance Manager

Located on the foreshore of Port Hedland, with sweeping views of the Indian Ocean, The Hedland Hotel is the accommodation venue of choice for travellers in the Iron Ore capital of the world, Port Hedland.  The multifaceted Hedland Hotel recently underwent an inspired Palm Springs transformation in 2023 with a major redevelopment of all public spaces including all Food and Beverage outlets. Refurbishment of all Guest Accommodation is scheduled to begin in 2025.  
 
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Assistant Maintenance Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist the Maintenance Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our maintenance department, ensuring all equipment, systems, and facilities are running efficiently and effectively.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing and supervising the maintenance team, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify and resolve issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
• Support in managing budgets, tracking expenses, and sourcing vendors and contractors as needed.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and troubleshoot problems efficiently.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in maintenance in a hotel or large facility (preferred)
• Strong technical knowledge
• Familiarity with maintenance software and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
